the stone steps of the pyramid of the sun at teotihuacán reach high into the heavens. despite its notoriety, archaeologists still don’t know who built this ancient city and its many temples - even the name teotihuacán is believed to have come from the aztecs, who lived in the region after the abandonment of this once-great settlement.
